Public Service Announcement

I've been inspired by Sock Girl's cheering up to do a public service announcement.

This is a WONDERFUL program called Cell Phones for Soldiers.

You can click on the link to find out more (MUCH MORE) about the program but in a nutshell .......

CPFS was founded by (then) tweens (now teens) Brittany and Robbie Bergquist in 2004. What they do is gather old cell phones, sell them, take the cash, and get prepaid calling cards for soldiers overseas. (They also take print cartridges). I believe that it averages about 100 minutes of calling time for each cell phone donated.

So -- if you happen to have an old cell phone sitting around and want to get rid of it -- you can check for drop off sites at this link.

Sometimes hearing a friendly voice can do a lot to make a person feel better.

And hey -- if you don't happen to have an old cell phone hanging around, call a friend today -- I'm sure you know someone that can use a friendly voice. (that number again -- 1-800-555-ramblin)
